Electric scooters are quickly becoming the craze and go-to option for cost-effective personal mobility in global markets. And Honda has jumped right onto the bandwagon with the U-Go; its most affordable electric scooter.

The Honda U-Go has been launched in China under the company’s Chinese subsidiary- Wuyang Honda for CNY 7499 (approx. Rs 86,000). the electrical scooter is obtainable in two versions. The top-spec version is powered by a 1.2kW motor with a max output of 1.8kW and claimed top speed of 53kmph. Whereas the quality U-Go comes with a 0.8kW motor and top speed of 45kmph.

Nonetheless, both versions of the Honda U-Go use 1.44kWh lithium-ion battery pack that gives a 65km range. However, with the second, optional battery, the range are often extended to 130km. as compared , the recently launched Ola S1 offers a variety of 121km on the quality version and 181km on the professional model.

Now for features, Honda has equipped the electrical scooter with useable features like full-LED lighting, an LCD instrument cluster that displays relatively basic information like range, battery status, riding mode, and speed. It also gets a USB charging port and an anti-theft alarm.

While there's no word about Honda launching the U-Go in India, considering the sudden growth in demand for electric scooters in our country, the U-Go would be a stimulating proposition. If launched, it might go up against the Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450X, and therefore the Ola S1 here.
